Ensuring a WPI Education for Future Generations

For Laura Amodeo '06, joining the Alden Society is about ensuring other students benefit from a WPI education the way she did.

As a senior project planner at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Laura has come to recognize how well WPI prepared her for professional life and has chosen to make a bequest to WPI. She draws upon her IQP experience in Costa Rica and the preparation for that experience in her pre-qualifying project. She values the tenacity born of challenging courses and the teamwork and leadership skills developed through involvement in many student organizations.

"I took a lot away from WPI, and I want to make sure students in years to come have the same experience," she says.

As many of her peers enter life stages that involve purchasing homes, getting married and having children—steps that involve making a will, purchasing life insurance, and other such preparations—Laura hopes they will also consider the value of their WPI education and join the Alden Society through a planned gift.
